PROCTOR DOUBLES UP AT HOCKING COUNTY FAIR
By Rupert X Pellett
Ohio County Fair Motocross Championship Series - Round 23
Hocking County Fair
LOGAN, OH SEP 12

Young Cody Proctor wins quite a few races in this Ohio County Fair series - although on this night, in Logan, in front of his hometown crowd - the Yamaha mounted racer was unstoppable. Deep in the heart of Southern Ohio - this Hocking County Fair came alive with the sounds and smells of motocross racing - as over three hundred hardy racers appeared for a weeknight bike thrashing. Proctor, from Logan, didn't need to go but downtown to the fairgrounds to take his mind off it being a school-night and he made the best of it - sweeping to both moto wins in the 80 "Extra"  class and the 85 12-15 age group class, otherwise known locally, as Mini-Senior. Series rivals Perry Hoover and Josh Toney would make him work for it - yet Proctor's mastering of the fair- track whoops section and very-fast riding would have them battling for the other podium spots. Toney would take second in the Mini-Senior with Hoover in third, while those two finishes would flip-flop in Mini-Extra, with Hoover taking the runner-up position. Another hometown boy tasted two classes of victory, as Levi Kilbarger roosted his way to the 65cc class win and then, later, posted the Mini-Junior (85cc 7-11) group win, as well. Coming up from Jackson, farther South in the state, Mitch Warrens catapulted his Kawasaki to the front in 250 B and the 30 plus classes, firmly entrenching his name into the Logan record-books, while Chris Smith stormed his CR-250 home for the 25 plus victory. In the 50 cc races, Blake Hoffman and Colin Thomas both dug deep and displayed their incredible riding talents - Thomas bested the 50cc PW class, with Hoffman snatching the 50 (4-6) division. The 7-8 year old group was overhauled by Dylan Walker of Lancaster, he screamed his King Cobra 50 in for another first place trophy - one to add to the impressive youth's collection. The money classes saw some incredible action, as bikes were flying everywhere and the lead changed hands extensively. Ultimately, Shaun Kuchler took the 125 A and Bub Thomas manhandled the 250 A division. Great riding was performed by local David Herb, notching second spots in both contests.
