HOOVER, HOY HOIST TROPHIES - GRACYK GETS GROOVE ON
By Rupert X Pellett
Ohio County Fair Motocross Championship Series - Round 24
Guernsey County Fair
OLD WASHINGTON, OH SEP 15

Yet another night of huge onion rings, the "Tilt-A-Whirl", overgrown stuffed bears and lemon shake-ups would be the order of the evening here in Old Washington, as the Ohio County Fairs Motocross series dashed into another small burg in the Buckeye State and set the locals scurrying home with stories of those "kids on them dirt-bikes". When all was said and done there were some notable performances by Ohio racers, as natives of both AMA District 11 (Southern part of the state) and District 12 (Northern Ohio) competed on promoter Tab Thompson's custom made, jump infested circuit. Cambridge racer Perry Hoover was the master of the 80cc classes, taking two division wins on his Hondas, ramping the red machines to victory in the 80 "Extra" group and the 85cc "Mini-Senior" race. Newark's Dickie Hoy lay down the smack in the 25 plus class on his Roberts - Topsoil backed YZ-125, then ripped up the 125 A class, as well. Making a surprise appearance was Blissfield's amazing racer, Gavin "Speedy-G" Gracyk - Gracyk, fresh off a National championship or two, was way too fast for the cameras as he stomped on the 125 and 250 B classes aboard his Team-Green backed machines. Urichsville's Kyle Ditcher put an impressive evening of racing behind him, notching the win in the 65cc class on his KTM, then posting a second spot showing in back of James Eck, of Chandlersville, in the Mini-Junior class. Well worth mentioning was youngster Blake Hoffman, of Circleville - Hoffman rode the wheels off his 50cc bikes, taking the Pee-Wee 50 laced shaft drive class and the 50(4-6) division, as well.
