Zaiser Zaps 'Em -
Again........
By Rupert X Pellett
Ohio County Fair Motocross Championship Series - Round 20
Richwood County Fair
RICHWOOD, OH Aug 30
Dominating the novice classes all
season long, Columbus' Chad Zaiser has been a force not to be
fooled with, as his method of
operation has been to simply grab fast starts and haul the mail to
the checkered flag, as the
Honda mounted speedster has been destroying the C classes in AMA
District Eleven and in this
Ohio County Fairs Motocross Championship Series. Breaking out his
weapons of motocross - Zaiser
came in to Richwood confident and left with a few trophies as he
whisked his CR 125 in for the
125 C class crown and then bested Marysville's quick Rob
Cunningham to take the 250 C
class win, as well. Having another great night of racing was
Westerville's Shaun Kuchler - he spanked the
competition in the 125 A class aboard his number 45 Honda, then
returned to sink the hopes of the 16-24
class, where he earned the honors in that age group. Mount
Gilead's rising young fast guy, Jared Grabiel,
showed the crowd that riding and training with National Amateur
Champion Gavin Gracyk has proved
successful - Grabiel stole off with both the Schoolboy and 125 B
classes, displaying great skills for
a fifteen year young racer. Grabiel, mounted on a Kawasaki and
sponsored by GT Thunder, had to contend
with the very talented Dillion Watkins in Schoolboy and a
determined Brian Beckholt in 125 B. Fourth
place in 125 B was Westerville's Tracey "Trey-Dog" Haun,
Haun had difficulties in the 125 B class but
resolved that the 250 B division would be his. Having to fight off
the likes of Grove City's Randy Van Wagner and "Mighty"
Mitch Warrens and his Kawasaki - Haun sliced his green machine in
for the win and a kiss from the
trophy girl, Ms. Emmylou Witzuikshak, of Richwood. Local racer
"Buffalo" Bill Reiss came
in to this race with a winning attitude and left with the
champagne as his total destruction of the competition
was evident in the 40 plus class - where he left Mark "The
Machine" McDaniel in the second spot
and Dale "Ringmaster" Ringwald in third. In yet another
electrifying performance, Dwight Voltz vamped
up the crowd with a dizzying display in the Open class, striding
his Kawasaki KX-310 - sponsored by
Torco fuels, Voltz shocked the class by arcing his green machine
directly in for the win, leaving second place
for Grove City's Jim "The Farmer" Witteman and his
CR-500.
