OSBORNE AND BOWERS Duke It Out IN Columbus

With over four hundred riders,
mostly from Ohio - taking the opportunity to warm up indoors and
race some Buckeye-style Arenacross, the crew from American
Motosports held their yearly extravaganza at this massive indoor
venue that featured incredible racing and an overflow crowd of
spectators. Future teammates in the Yamaha Of Troy
Supercross rig ; Abingdon,
Virginia’s Zach Osborne and Kentucky’s Tyler Bowers, were
hardcore in all four pro moto’s over the weekend, with Osborne
coming out with better finishes overall and, more money in his
pockets. Friday night was all about the blue bikes of number 76
Osborne, as the former KTM pilot, recently slimmed down, fit and
fast, took both the wins in 125 and 250 pro. While Bowers was
able to stay close for second place in the 125’s, bike problems
slowed him to eleventh in the 250 main. In Saturday night’s
furious racing action, Bowers slammed into Osborne on an inside
rut, knocking Osborne out of contention early in the night’s 250
main – Bowers was able to run off with that race, as Osborne
shook things off and charged up to fourth. Later in the evening,
many were poised for a major war between the Yamahas of Osborne
and Bowers, yet it was not to be, as Bowers suffered a poor
start and was able to work up to second – place, yet Osborne was
long gone. Taking third on the night was Ellijay, Georgia’s
Derek Rogers, who had some great finishes over the weekend. In
amateur racing, there were many standouts over the two-days,
probably none more obvious than Logan’s Chase Kilbarger. The
Suzuki mounted racer was unstoppable all weekend, notching four
wins in the Schoolboy and 125 B races – for a very impressive
performance in this jump-heavy arena. Marietta’s Mike Blair was
the man in the vet classes however, taking his
specially-prepared KX-450 in for three wins and a second-place
on the weekend, only losing to Morgantown, West Virginia’s Duane
Evans in Saturday night’s 25 plus A main.
