Josh Hamilton, of Westerville, Ohio,
was back again on a motorcycle and having fun, as the
likable and speedy lad tore off and took both single-moto format
races at round two of the Ohio Fair Race Series, here in
Hilliard.
Having few contestants in each moto made things a little easier,
but Hamilton is usually a front runner at these events ,
regardless. Looking fast and also Honda mounted, like his son,
Kim Hamilton was up to his old tricks in the 40 plus class, as
he chased Gerry Bennett around the jumpy circuit to take second
behind the local elder-statesman of AMA District Eleven –
“Gentleman” Gerry Bennett. At fifty plus years of age, the
ageless Bennett was also able to capture the 30 plus class
aboard his Yamaha. Kyle Schmelzer and Devan Welch were on the
fuel all night, both taking convincing double-moto wins, with
Welch snapping up the 125 B and 16-24 (Group 1) classes, while
Schmelzer ruled in 250 B and 16-24 (Group 2).
