AMES TAMES THE FIELD IN HILLIARD

Zach Ames drove down from his home in Prospect, Ohio and strode into the Franklin County Fairgrounds with a yellow RMZ 450 in the back of his pick-up truck, only to leave a few hours later with a chunk of green change for his efforts. With about three hundred and fifty riders making their  way out on a Saturday night at this Franklin County Fair, promoter Matt and  Amy Eastman had a relatively calm eve of motocross to contend with, as this  event usually features a cloudburst and a mud-caked greasy circuit. Tonight was  balmy and calm however, and F&S Suzuki backed Zach “Attack” Ames had his  way with the tight course. The only glitch on thenight for Ames was in the 250 pro  class, where he stalled his big machine with only a couple laps to go, allowing  Nick Hardacre to take over the lead. Ames didn’t panic though, he calmy hit his  hot-start routine and kicked through a few times, before re-igniting the beast and  steaming past Hardacre for the win. Ames, of note, would also take group two of  the 16-24 division, as well.
