Canada's Michael Willard and F&S Suzuki's Zach Ames, longtime
friends and motocross rivals in Ohio's competitive
AMA District Eleven - squared off at this
Columbus suburb fairgrounds race, as the extremely talented
riders went home with cash in both of their pockets and sharing
the night's "fastest rider" honors.
Willard, of Thornville, is known as a quick
starter and aggressive in the corners, so along with his potent
new KTM 250 four stroke, there was no
stopping him in the 125 pro class - as Ames
and his Suzuki would have to settle for second. The 250 class
belonged to Ames however, as he was wanting a win
and hammered the whoops in his quest for the
fame and cash award at the end of the eve. Ames
was equally unstoppable in the 16-24 class, topping that division
with a methodical pounding of the tight circuit.
Local Kyle Preston was third in both pro
events, aboard his Suzuki, as well.
