Smiths Smooth At Clark County Fair
By Rupert X Pellett
Ohio County Fairs Motocross Championship Series – Round 11
Clark County Fairgrounds
Springfield, OH
July 23
With a big crowd steaming into the
Clark County Fairgrounds for two nights of “Fair-Cross”, the
promoter team of Matt and Amy Eastman and their stellar
crew at American Motosports - put together a tidy little jump
and whoop infested course for the more than three-hundred
eager competitors at this Central Ohio event. Fairborn,
Ohio’s Smith brothers, no strangers to the podiums of AMA
District Eleven, decided to make this a night of warm-up racing
for Loretta Lynn’s – as younger brother Kyle will be
competing in the ‘A’ classes at the AMA Amateur National
Championships in Tennessee, while older sibling Cory cheers him
on. On this night, both would compete against each other
in the 250 pro class, where Kyle was just too much for older bro
Cory, as he stormed quickly to the front aboard his
Yamaha. with Cory in tow all the way for second place. Cory’s
turn for a win was in the 16-24 class, as the
semi-retired, yet still fast young man, spanked the field in
the “Collegeboy” division.
