Not
a bad weekend's worth of work for Vince Karnow, as the KTM mounted
pro came down from Northern
Ohio to the central part of the state to finish off his run
in this prestigious indoor motocross series. Karnow, strong all
series long in both the pro
classes and the 25 plus A division, has been on the podium often
during this lengthy indoor motocross championship contest, winning
a bunch of money and recognition along the way. Continuing his
strong presence he established in
long weekends of racing down South in Jackson, Ohio and in the
state capital at the Columbus
expo center, Karnow ran three classes each day and came off with
an incredible streak of wins, taking
a total of seven first place awards home from his
nine entries. On Friday night, young upstart and fast - guy Jared
"Dude" Grabiel
walked off with the 125 pro main, using blistering speed through
the whoops to take his KX-125
to the top of the podium, with Karnow in tow in second.
Fired up, Karnow would go out and put the smack down in the 250
pro class and the 25 plus races,
with the crowd eagerly behind the talented expert.
Saturday night was again all Grabiel in the 125 class, while
Karnow stole the show with
wins in the 250 pro and 25 plus races, as before. Tony Robinson
was often quite in the mix in these
Karnow/ Grabiel races, as Robinson has been stepping
up his game and would have won a few races over the weekend, had
not Karnow and Grabiel
participated. Sunday was all for Vince as he lit up the coliseum,
tossing his orange KTM's across the finish line first in all three
classes; 25 plus (A) and both pro
classes, as the Karnow clan left the event with
pocketfuls of cash and the respect of the enthusiastic audience,
here in Marion.
