American Motosports promotes races all over the state of Ohio, yet this site outside the town of McArthur is where the racing series got started, some
twenty years ago. Besides their summertime
fair - race series and winter Ohio Arenacross series, AMS promotes a few outdoor- style motocross races at
this location, adjacent to a saw mill, just off route 93 on the edge of town.

Despite the greasy conditions, it was Suzuki - mounted Keith Maraugha taking home the 40 plus class bragging rights at this rolling circuit, deep in southern Ohio's back country. Early season races in district eleven are always sketchy - you never know if you'll have sleet or balmy conditions. This year, McArthur's track got all gooey and the going was somewhat slowed, although a large turnout and Suzuki contingency money on the line, made for some exciting racing. Vet racers often enjoy this circuit, laid out on the side of a hill next to the McArthur fairgrounds - as the mostly natural terrain and limited obstacles, suit their needs. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's Maraugha, making the long haul over from the Keystone state, whipped up on the over-40 class riders, thrashing his RM-250 around the slippery layout with precise navigation. Piloting his Cycle Specialties backed Suzukis in the money classes was Brad Strunk, the twenty-five year old racer and arenacross expert showcased his speed here. The Hamilton native strode to overalls in 25 plus (A) and the 125 and 250 pro classes. In the 30 plus A division, it was none other than Mike Blair showing his speed, the Marietta native roosted away from early favorite Mike Morgan and local fast guys Matt Powers and Dallas Avery. Matt Cottrill, of Chillicothe had a fine day, taking wins in two different 85 cc classes. Derek "Diesel" Stinson stormed his Cobra home first in the feisty 50cc (4-6) group of racers, while Circleville's Blake Hoffman rode off with the 7-8 year -old division. Former Hare-Scrambles racer Drew Eggleston tore off with the 250 C class overall, whisking his KTM-200 in for another win under slimy track conditions.
