Ohio County Fairs Motocross Championship Series – Round 13
Gallia County Fairgrounds
Gallipolis, OH
Aug 3
Marengo,
Ohio based Mike Russell and son Patrick were the stars of the
motocross racing action here in this Ohio River-side city, as
round thirteen of the Ohio fair-race series drifted into the
fairgrounds on a balmy August night. With a great crowd of
spectators and contestants, Mike Russell, an elderly expert
motocross racer from Central Ohio, was content to run off in the
thirty-plus class, as the wiley vet racer stormed home the winner
in time to watch his son, Patrick (the III) - take the win in the
50cc (4-8) class . In the pro classes, it was Jesse Russell (no
relation) taking the 125 pro class main in fine style aboard his
Suzuki, as well as getting the runner-up honors behind Tony
Robinson in the 250 money class, as well. In the 80cc classes,
there was no stopping Blain Brown – he powered his Yamaha’s to
two class wins, convincingly - using great speed through the
whoops and some masterful riding to whip all comers.
