Chillicothe’s Nathan Skaggs was on the top of his game here in Broadway, as the American Motosports folks hosted round number five of the Buckeye State Motocross Championship series, as well as round seventeen of their Ohio County Fair series, concurrently. Skaggs, a sometimes AMA Nationals pro competitor, came up from Southern Ohio and was, absolutely, repaid for his gas money, as the Suzuki mounted  expert took both the purse and contingency money home –after winning both overalls handily here, besting the fast Codi Adams in both the 125 and 250 pro classes. Another gentleman acquiring purse winnings was Sandyville, West Virginia’s Mike Morgan, an elderly and experienced fast guy that often turns up for the big series races. At a few years north of forty, Morgan has been a mainstay of the talented vet crowd in AMA District five and District eleven forever and, when he arrives, he comes to race. Here in Broadway, while disappointed in his fourth overall in the 25+ expert class, Morgan stomped on the 30+ expert and 40+ divisions, taking some Suzuki contingency bucks and purse money home down south with him. Another Mike, this one with the last name of Russell - also had a good day on the Eastman family farm, as he took the 25 and 30+ B Class overalls, plus the pit-bike race, hauling out a mass of trophies back home to Marengo.
