Metz
Messing With Moto Minds In Marion

AMS Ohio Arenacross Series Rounds 10 / 11 / 12
MARION, OH
Jan 3/4/5
Even
with a hurting shoulder Scotty Metz can still go fast on a
motorcycle - especially when
there is a few bucks on the line, so here at the highly
competitive confines of the mighty
Marion coliseum, it was much more of Metz, messing things up for
the competition. Metz, based
out of Harrison, Indiana, yet spending a lot of time at his
sponsor, Traci Shepherd Racing's shop
in Ohio, has been hard to beat at these AMS
promoted arenacross races, as the happy young man and his F&S
Suzuki are storming around the
state, taking wins and money wherever they go. On
this weekend in Marion, Metz, suffering from a very tweaked
shoulder, could not put
together a win in the 125 class, although he did get three second
place podium finishes aboard his RM-
125 and backed it up with three wins on
his 250, as Metz simply dominated the 250 class on all three days
of the event. " Wish I
could have got the 125's, too!" explained Metz - "many
thanks to my sponsors - F&S
Suzuki, SPY, FCR Suspension, Traci Shepherd, Snach
Clothing, EVC and all the rest!" Looking
good on the 125's were Michigan's Matt Ray and Ohio's Dickie
Hoy - Ray took Friday and Saturday's 125 main events, while Hoy
and his Buckeye Powersports, Swifty
Madinger tuned machine was brilliant on
Sunday. In Old-Timer action, nobody could catch Rome, Ohio's Chuck
Nicholson - the Suzuki mounted fast -
old-dude swept all three days of the 30
plus class. The 40 plus class belonged to Brad Vanwinkle and his
KTM - he took two wins in that
division, while Mark "Wedding Singer" McDaniel took
a win, as well.
