F&S Suzuki sponsored Steve Andrich, of Lancaster, Ohio and formerly of California - was on top of his game at this brand new facility - that was - until the bike was on top of him. Andrich, with a pair of brand new well-prepped Suzukis from his sponsor and looking very fit after a winter of heavy work-outs, was all about getting this newly formed and freshly opened track off to a great start, as he looked to be the fastest man on the course. During the first 25 plus 'A' moto, Andrich stacked up on a soft spot on the track, after landing from a tricky double-tabletop thingey - the bike stopped and Andrich kept going. He recovered rather quickly, though way down in the pack and remounted - although a good ways back. After walking off with the second 25 plus A moto - Andrich could only muster fifth overall. Although shaken up - he was still able to take on the 250 pro class, getting the overall after battling F&S teammate, David "PeeWee" Whitcraft - but it was Whitcraft taking the 125 pro overall, with a snazzy holeshot in moto two that led to a tasty win over the following Andrich. In amateur racing, it was all Zach Haning - the Buckeye Powersports and Mike Skinner tuned YZ-250 of Haning was all about being out front, as he took on the packs of racers for the 16-24 class overall and 250 B trophy. In 85 cc action, Axl Moler was showing the rest of the unruly youth the fast way around the new circuit, as he was putting on a clinic - winning the 12-15 age group outright - as was Ted Rogers in the 85cc "Extra" class, as he put on quite a show winning, hands down.
